Pfizer, Inc. Informative - Criminal Conduct - Lipitor

Lipitor
Review by ritzdeef on 2009-09-25
From the WSJ:'Pfizer Inc. agreed to plead guilty to a federal criminal charge of illegally marketing the painkiller Bextra and will pay $2.3 billion for illegally promoting the sale of that and other medicines for unapproved uses.'

I have told my doctor that I do not like Pfizer's ethics (or absence of ethics) and I have changed from Lipitor to Crestor. I have written to Pfizer telling them of this action. Everyone that can should send a similar message to these criminals. Substitute drugs from some other company for Pfizer products. Let's send a consumer message to criminals!

Good luck. Most people don't pay attention or don't care.

So who is getting this 2.3 billion dollars?
Posted by ritzdeef on 2009-09-25:
Who gets it? It is a Federal Government receipt. Will help reduce the deficit.

Justthefaxx. I agree, but wouldn't be good if there were more people taking this approach? 2.3 bill is a drop in the bucket for Pfizer. Significant loss of markets to substitutes (ie Crestor for Lipitor) would get their attention.
