Dell Computer Corporation Complaint - BUYERS BEWARE OF DELL
Recently I received information from Dell Financial Services indicating that my present APR rating of $19.24% would increase to $29.99%. All of this was based on my credit history with a certain credit bureau. DFS has indicated also that if I refused the increase that my account would automatically be closed at my request and that the credit bureaus would be contacted. I have been a customer since 2004 and have made monthly automatic payments to avoid late payments. Earlier this year (2009), DFS attempted to increase my credit from $4500.00 to $7000.00 without first consulting me and I insisted that my credit limit be returned to $4500.00. I believe Dell retaliated as a result and presented me with the APR increase proposal with everything based on their terms. Myself as a customer would never have requested for my account to be closed and I also submitted my complaint to the BBB. I also today (9/25/09) received an offer of urgency from Dell to have my warranty extended (Terms And Conditions Apply). The top portion of the campaign insists that I act now in the amount of $110.00. Somehow the bottom portion indicates that warranty prices vary by system and duration. It also indicates to invest $200.00 on my order to extend my warranty and receive a $50 Dell Promotional Gift Card. The introduction of the letter/scam has my name on it, but it also indicates the improper indication of a Dell Inspiron 910 with the Service Tag of 96N1XF1. I do not own such a device or system. In retrospect of the proposed APR increase, DFS has also indicated in the event of refusing the increase that any usage or attempt of my account after September 17th that I would consider seeking support or future purchases that my refusal request would be disavowed and my account would automatically mean: (that you accept these changes even if you previously notified us that you did not agree to these changes). Figure that out America! Dell with its outsourcing and other deceitful promotional and sales tactics is vastly losing it reputation as being a supposed reputable company. Dell seemingly has this persona of being very invincible, but you know what, Rome fell also! Beware of Dell and Dell Financial Services!!!!!!!
