Megahome etc. Informative - Salvage The Countertop Water Distiller

Review by newvoice on 2009-09-28
Just in case others have also purchased countertop water distillers of the Megahome and many other brands; our units failed at less than 14 months. One company only warrants the electrical for 30 days!! Fuses blow, thermostats melt, cheap inferior imports are all that is available now. When Sears sold them they were manufactured in Japan and were of excellent quality. No such quality now exists. What to do when the unit dies. Pay a high shipping cost, high repair cost and have it fail again in a short timer or convert it to a stovetop unit.

Remove the outer casing from the bottom. The tops never seem to fail Use the remaining stainless steel pot (remove switch, wires, etc.) on your stop using the top that you have. Works good and cheaper than a repair.
