Federal Express Corporation Complaint - Shipping on the west coast
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA -- When you want to ship something from the west coast (I'm in South San Francisco, CA 94080) to
the west coast (I was shipping to Union Gap, WA 98903), and you want to ship it by FedEx overnight service, it's better NOT to call the service center to check whether it's a 6 P.M. or 8:30 P.M. cut-off time. For shipments that start from the west coast, and have a west coast destination, they extend the cut-off time to 8:30 P.M. But it only goes for the western half of Washington and Oregon, and only parts of Idaho. And if you call in, they often tell you the whole state is 8:30. So you show up at 6:30, and find out that your package is not going to move that night. You're better off assuming that EVERYTHING is a 6 P.M. cut-off, and forget the 8:30 option. It's too hard to figure out which side of the cut-off time fence your shipment is on.
