Mobile Device Protection Complaint - Mobile device protection are a ripoff

Review by servando on 2009-09-29
Mobile Device protection.com is a cell phone insurance company provided through Wirefly.com my cell phone was stolen recently and I filed a clainm and even though I provided proof they denied my claim, they are scammers and seems that they deny all claims as a routine practice, maybe wirefly.com gets a cut because they push you to buy this insurance promising that they are good and will replace up to 4 phones. do not buy this insurance.

What basis did they give for denying the claim?

From their website FAQ, I gather a few things that can happen that would cause them to not cover your equipment

1. Proper documentation not provided (i.e. police report)?
2. Not filed within 30 days of the incident.
3. IMEI/ESN number outdated

I'd contact them and ask them for more information.

Sounds like almost all insurance companies. Of course wirefly.com gets a cut.
