Fred Meyer Complaint - Accidents
PUYALLUP, WASHINGTON -- Due to a slippery piece of garbage (packing strap) left on the floor (obviously NOT by a customer, it was from the store), I tripped and broke my wrist. To get someone to respond to my complaint and me asking to file a report on the accident took 45 minutes, it was a Sunday evening, and apparently nobody with any kind of authority works on a Sunday evening(!HA!). My wrist continued swelling, I asked for ice and was directed to an ice bag machine where I could buy a big bag of ice. In my company, we always have ice in the staff refrigerator, but apparently they're not allowed to share. When someone finally came to talk to me, she kept saying I should go and get medical assistance and come back to fill out the accident form. Apparently, they're self insured, and I wonder what kind of a bonus the person would get if they tried to talk me out of filling out an accident form? As it was, I had to have surgery the following Tuesday, allowing time for the swelling of my wrist to go down. it took FOREVER and the threat of a lawsuit before they would pay my medical bills. I will NEVER set foot in a Fred myer store again, nor will any of my largeextended family! I suggest you shop somewhere else where you won't get the shaft if you get hurt due to their neglagance!
