Nike Complaint - Vick, It's No More Nike For Me

Complaint
Review by LDCGA on 2009-10-01
Upon learning that Michael Vick was a representative for Nike, I was appalled. I will never buy another Nike product as long as that animal killer is involved!

I'll post this again here:

Nike doesn't have a contract with Michael Vick.

After checking out SteveW.'s link, the OP needs to apologize to Nike.

but you don't mind buying shoes made in a sweatshop, eh? as long as a [dog killer's] name isn't associated to the brand. yea, I get that.

According to ESPN Vick just signed a multi lillion dollar contract with Nike. King James is right their human rights violations should be reason enough to boycott Nike. KJ, do you know of any sports shoe maker that doesn't use sweat shop labor?

Recent from USA Today... There is no endorsement deal with Vick.

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2009/10/nike-there-is-no-new-endorsement-deal-with-michael-vick/1

I guess it's going to be half and half... some news broadcasts are going to say he did, others are going to say he didn't.

"Nike does not have a contractual relationship with Michael Vick. We have agreed to supply product to Michael Vick as we do a number of athletes who are not under contract with Nike,"

Ok, now I understand. My husband was with the Washington Redskins so I know what they are talking about. Nike is giving Vick an allotment. He will be able to order from a catalog of Nike products up to a specific dollar amount. It's kind of like getting a store credit. In return Vick will wear all Nike products. So while he will not be 'creating' merchandise he is getting paid by Nike and it is a contract.

blah blah blah, boo hoo.
I just ordered 3 pair of Nikes off of their website just at the possibility of Vick being associated with Nike.

I don't agree with what he did but he did his time and then some as the NFL felt they needed to punish him further.
