Wal-Mart Informative - Another Wal-Mart Shopper Scam?
This may just be an observational warning.
I was shopping at Wal-mart last night after work (9/30/09)and in the vitamin section when two attractive young women approached me and asked if I could help them find some prenatal vitamins. I agreed and located the vitamins. Suddenly I found myself in a conversation with one of the young ladies about how her boyfriend had run off with another with another woman and that she was two months pregnant. She then told me that she was starting a job next week and didn't have any money for baby food, diapers and the vitamins.
Of course this would put anybody with a heart on the spot tugging at your heart strings. So, I went and purchased the items for them. I noticed she was talking to someone on the cell phone while I was checking out the items with the cashier.
When I walked them to their car, I was thinking to myself about how she could afford a cell phone,
much less a brand new car. I helped them place the groceries in their car and when I returned to my home, I noticed my receipt was not in any of my bags which puzzled me.
When I came to work today, still a little puzzled about the whole affair, I explained the situation to some of my co-workers.
They explained to me that those two young ladies would return the items back to Wal-Mart in a couple of hours, with my receipt, and get the money back in exchange. One of my co-workers then recalled that happening to someone else that they knew.
Another scam? Maybe.
