Select Comfort Sleep Number Bed Complaint - Shame on You
We purchased a King 5000 Sleep Number bed in 2005. We loved it so much we bought a 2nd bed - the King 7000 in 2007 for our cabin.
These beds are pricey, but not waking up with a sore back/hips or my arms asleep was worth it.
However.... after 4 years, the 2005 model pillowtop was getting pretty uncomfortable. I called the store and was directed to the 'Customer Service' 1-800 number. I was immediately connected with a sales person who transferred me to 'customer service' where I was on hold over 20 minutes. That wasn't the worst of it. When we bought the bed we were told we could replace the pillowtop for a couple hundred dollars... a couple hundred? Current price is $900!! For a 1" piece of foam, a couple inches of polyester filling and a zipper? When I expressed my unhappiness with this, I was told that Sleep Number was not likely to change their warranty or their prices, and she wished they would hire more people to help answer the phones but that wasn't likely either. So was 'sorry' but she would put in my price quote and I could basically take it or leave it. I left it. I could have a custom pillotop made for that price! Shame on you sleep number!
