Complaint - No hotel booking no reimbursement

I booked 5 rooms for a hotel in Barcelona 21st-28th August back in May 09, I received all confirmation vouchers by email and I specifically stated I wanted all rooms, as they were all booked under my name. Roomsnet took the full payment within a few days of the booking. Myself and the 10 other people arrived late Friday night to be informed by the hotel that they only had 3 confirmed reservations, and they received notification that day that the 2 other rooms had been cancelled. I argued that I had not cancelled them and full payment had been taken from my account. Myself and the hotel tried throughout the weekend to contact Roomsnet to clear up the mistake but no one appeared to be working on their 24 hour customer support telephone line or website address. It is now two months down the line and after much chasing around for a reimbursement I am still waiting to be compensated. Roomsnet say there has been a malfunction in their refund system hence their delay and they will be acting on refunds on a first come first served basis but I am oviously not on that list, are they just saying this to try and fob me off. They owe me a substantial amount of money.

Basically do not rely on confirmation vouchers as they are not worth the paper they are printed on.

Never go for the full payment option, as you will never get the money back as they appear to have glitches occurring a lot.

Do not believe Roomsnet when they advertise 24 hour service as at weekends it clearly doesn't apply.

Hotels, 99.9% of the time can be booked on the property's website...or, calling them is another reliable "plan B"
