Budget Rent-A-Car Complaint - Unfair Fuel Charges
SAN JOSE AIRPORT, CALIFORNIA -- Rented a Hyundai Sonata at SJC on 9/12/09 (rental agreement U427153720) for 1 week. When I got the car, was annoyed because fuel gauge was at a hair over half. Attendant at the exit booth made some notes and told me to inform the desk clerk at the office which I did. When I returned the car on 9/19/09, I have the fuel gauge at somewhere between the half and 3/4 mark. I also told the attendant about it the note on the fuel. A week later, I got a bill from Budget for fuel charges $23.97. I called and tried to explained the situation to Gene Mason. He wanted a copy of my receipt for gas. I will now have to dig through all my receipts to find said receipts. I feel like Budget is treating me 'guilty' until proven innocent. Why don't they have the tank full (like Hertz and others)when I get the car so I can return it full. This is really wasting a lot of my time, a disservice to customers that only leads to dissatisfaction and ill will.
