Target Complaint - Ridiculous fees
The Target credit card has the most ridiculous fees you have ever heard of. I went to make a payment on my Target credit card on September 22nd, the due date. I didn't have time to stop at the store, and I knew if I mailed it it would be late. So, I decided to call customer service and make a payment over the phone. For this "privilege" they charge $10!! My minimum payment due was $30, so this was a third of my payment and I refused, I just hung up before entering any information.
I went on with my life and realized the next week I had forgotten to go to the store to make that payment. Three days later their people called saying I had missed a payment and now my payment would need to be $110. I asked why, I was only a few days late, no more than 15 days late, and my payment missed was only $30. The representative told me it was $30 for the missed payment, $30 for the payment not due until the 22nd of October, and a $50 finance charge!! I told them I would make the payment when I get paid, but I'm not paying $110. They will get the payment due on the 22nd, before the 22nd, but they don't need it right now. They can choke on the $50 finance charge, or late payment fee or whatever they want to call it. I told them I would pay this online, but now after reading these reviews I don't trust them and I refuse to put my information in their system, so I will be going to the store to make the $30 payment that was missed with CASH.
