CitiFinancial Auto Complaint - The Greed of Citi Financial never stops! - Auto Loan

Auto Loan - Complaint
Review by Tired of the Greed on 2009-10-08
I had an auto loan with Citi Financial for over five years. I was not made aware of the small print that stated I would be charged $7/day everyday after the due date until I paid that month. I must admit I was a little laxed about paying in that I have been unemployed for almost two years. Even though they have Billions in our tax dollars, they are still trying to go for blood. I kept paying even though I was unemployed and have exhausted all my funds. They don't care. They've gotten $10,000 more than what the car is worth from me. Sold the car and got over $8,000 more and still is hounding me for more money. When does it end. They are threatening to garnish my wages now.

My only consulation is that God knows and he sees and will one day judge the greed of these companies and bless the ones of us who are trusting Him in spite of...

I'm writing President Obama to please check into all of these crooked policies Bush has allowed to be put in place, and put a stop to how far this "greed" can go.

Sincerely, Sick of the Greedy Corporations sucking off the American Public.

" I was not made aware of the small print that stated I would be charged $7/day everyday after the due date until I paid that month."

But, when you opened the loan, you were given the paperwork that had that fine print in there. Therefore, you were responsible for reading it. Everything about the loan you sign up for is in that paperwork. Shouldn't matter if they bring it to your attention or not. They shouldn't have to, that's what the paperwork is for... your responsibility for reading it.

If you pay after the due date, there *will* be fees and charges. There's a reason there's a due date. Every bill you pay has fees and charges if you fail to pay before the due date.

"Sold the car and got over $8,000 more and still is hounding me for more money."

Did you pay off the loan? If you owe them money for late fees and still owe for the loan... you owe them money.

If you had financial issues, did you attempt to get in contact with them to see if you could work out something to lower payments 'til you got back on your feet? Have you attempted to do anything like that even now when you still owe them money?

That the total of the loan exceeds the value of the vehicle is not unusual. In most auto loans the remaining balance after two years will always be significantly more than the actual value of the vehicle at that time.

How were you able to sell a car without the title? Doesn't the loan company have the title?

A loan company cannot garnish your wages. That requires a court order after a judgment has been ruled against you.
