Budget Rent-A-Car Complaint - Do Not Ever Rent from Budget
I rented the vehicle in Laurel to drop it off the next morning in BWI airport. To my surprise, the return counter was not open and I could only get a receipt from the location - when I called. The customer service representative there had checked that I had a full tank of gas upon return and I drove only 76 miles. On the receipt, they showed 00-74 miles, $13.99 fuel fee added. To remove show receipt.
Yet, I drove above that, the representative did not ask for the receipt, as the meter showed a full tank. I was charged for the fuel top up on the receipt I subsequently got (which I had to call for by the way).
Called customer service who assured me that it would be removed within 48 hours without me taking other action. It is now 1 week later and the charge is till there. Billing insists I must produce a gas fill up receipt to get it taken off!
On top of that, I was re-directed to call 4 different numbers before I could speak to the right person - their staff's knowledge is VERY POOR.
STAY AWAY FROM BUDGET. YOU WANT PIECE OF MIND - GO AVIS, HERTZ, YOU WANT BEST RATES AND SERVICE GO ALAMO OR NATIONAL. I am disgusted with Budget.
