Honda Complaint - 2008 Honda Accord premature brake wear

Review by Noel G. on 2009-10-09
I am having the exact same experience as beachgirl32 had. My 2008 Accord had worn out brake pads at 19560 miles. The dealer told me this was a known problem, but that it would cost me $220 to replace the pads. When I had my mechanic replace them for $120, they told me I had invalidated my warranty. When I asked Customer Service where this was written, she said it was not written anywhere. She didn't answer me when I then asked her how I was to know about it. She then said that this was "normal wear and tear", and that it wouldn't be covered by the warranty. Is she kidding me? Worn rear brake pads at 19560 miles is "normal weaar and tear"? This is a well documented design deficiency that warrants a recall, or at the very least should be covered by the warranty. Worse than the fact that I will probably have to eat the $120 it cost me to replace the pads, was her arrogant "there's nothing you can do about it" attitude. This was my first and last Honda. Mr Opportunity can keep on knocking. I won't answer.
