NCO Financial Systems Complaint - NCO...Troublemaking LIARS

Review by Anonymous on 2004-07-23
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA -- I was contacted by NCO telling me I had a seriously delinquent Amex account. I told them I had perfect credit and paid all of my bills on time so there must be some mistake. They then informed me this was a joint account with my ex-husband of six years ago who was filing bancruptcy, refused to pay and told them to go after me for the money. LIES, but I didn't know it at the time. They then told me that the $5000 had been reported to the 3 major credit reporting agencies and was on my credit report. Again, LIES, but I didn't know it. I was livid and frantic and left a hateful message for my ex-husband that he'd better clear up this matter. He in-turn left me a not-so-nice message because of my message. During the next two days I spent hours on the phone trying to find out what the heck was going on. After going through 6 people at American Express, I finally reached their legal department who assured me that NCO could NOT put this on my credit report because I was only an authorized user of that account and never a co-signer. Amex contacted NCO and had my phone numbers removed from their records so they can never contact me again. HOWEVER, now my credit report has an inquiry on it by NCO - a collection agency and I DO NOT appreciate that. As well, it caused very bad feelings for a few days between me and my ex, which has always been an amicable relationship. NCO has not heard the last from me. I will be reporting them on every website and to every government agency I can regarding their deceitful business practices.

Will you please pay your bills, and stop posting complaint after complaint about NCO?

Tmoff - will you please stay off the NCO forum unless you have constructive advice to give?

Tmoff gets the "Space Cadet Of The Year" award for that wonderful advice. Shut da hell up tmoff...I believe Mr. Madeye summed it up.

tmoff; why don't you just shut up, unless the problem pertains to you. This goes beyond paying bills; this is about a company that thinks they can stomp all over everyone's rights and break laws as they see fit. What until someone tries to violate your rights, and we'll see how you will feel.

If someone violates Tmoff's rights...we'll help him just like everyone else. Thanks for defending this zone of the cite, though - you guys are great.

Poster - have you sent them a written demand to cease and desist communication with you yet?

All of you can commit suicide. I WILL post whatever I want, when I want.

I thought Sanford was bad, even she makes intelligent remarks once in awhile.

Timeoff is an NCO employee. Not to the level of collector but rather a janitor. Usually, during lunch Timeoff wanders the cubicle farm at NCO checking waste baskets for leftovers. If he finds a monitor open to this site he posts. Some NCO employees let him sleep in the space above their garage.Dont mind the silly comments and go sue them

tmoff- do you find it hard hiding the fact that you're gay?

Tmoff, why don't you try prozac and a calgon bubble bath and try to calm down. If that doesn't work, may I suggest a lobotomy.

Wow, Mad Eye I am really surprised, I have never heard you get rough before.....this person must really be bad.
Posted by Mad Eye Moody on 2004-07-23:
I wasn't being rough. I was asking a serious question.

Hey, tmoff, I just read some of your postings. It looks like the only reason you're on here is to vent all your frustrations. You sound like a 3 year old having temper tantrums.

Obviously he has a severe case of optical rectalosis so he needs to go get a plastic window put into his stomach so he can look out and see where he is going.

Poster: First, find out if the report from NCO is the same account, if it is, I'm not sure if there is anything you can do if your were an authorized signer and your Ex didn't pay. I'm only saying this because I was an authorized signer on one of my parent's credit card, and the account showed up on my credit report. It wasn't a problem because it was all paid, and wasn't anything negative. As for trying to collect from you, they can not demand payment from an authorized user...however, they can go after the spouse in most cases. If there was an agreement in your divorce and he is responsible, that is an agreement between you and the courts, not the credit card company. I know MadEye may have a few comments to make, and he may understand more on the legal side of things. MadEye, this is from what I have seen in the past...if I am mistaken, I will not be offended if you corrected me.
