Target Complaint - Refusing our check
EVERETT, WASHINGTON -- After years of shopping at Target and spending tens of thousands of dollars, our check was refused. Washington Mutual went under so my husband and I switched to Bank of America. They stated they were unable to cash our check for $300 because we didn't have a "check history". They were able to use our routing number and check account number to see that I had only written one check for $50 since opening the new account. When I asked them to use my old routing number and account number to prove "check history", they said they could but still wouldn't be able to establish a
"check history" for this new account, thus discrediting me as a honorable customer. Yes, I could have used a credit or debit card but we refused to pay until we called customer service to find out why our check had been refused. I am not white trash. I don't appreciate feeling this way especially from one of my favorite stores. Goodbye Target, you had a good thing going with me.
