QVC Complaint - Bogus Sale - Dell Studio 540

Review by roscoe69 on 2009-10-11
I purchased my compuer from QVC. I paid close attention to the " sales pitch". The "pitchman" said I would get free support for one year.

I decided to purchase the computer for $208.00 per month for five months ( flex play option ). After about three weeks I startd having problems with my computer.

I called the Dell/ QVC support line. After answering ten minutes worth of totally useless questions. They said the would have to connect me with a "fee based" tech. They offered me a one time fix answer for $68.00 or I could purchase a years support for I think was $260.00

I told them they could take this Dell computer a stick it up there xxx.

My six month old nephew can speak English better than these Indians can. I ended up having to use there " fee based " support three more times.

I have never been so pissed about one thing in my life. I hope Dell goes under. There support sucks and so does there computers.

I am not just an angry consumer. I have been screwed 3xs by Dell.

What is the return policy for QVC? If you were misled to believe the support was to provide more than you received, I would pack the computer up and ship it back to QVC. Let it be their headache to deal with.

Exactly what is wrong with your computer? Most computer problems are user error and fixes can be found by using google.

You've been "screwed by Dell 3 times," and yet you keep buying a Dell. You know the saying "fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me."

You paid two hundred bucks for a computer and expect them to hold your hand because you don't know how to use it? How many driving lessons did you get when you bought your car?

And by the way, your charming sentiments about hoping all those people lose their jobs isn't going to generate a whole lot of sympathy for you. Maybe you ought to have your six month old nephew write your reviews.

Actually the poster paid over a thousand for the computer. $208 X 5. They are saying they were screwed 3 times because they had to use a fee based help desk 3 times on this one unit, which by the pitch, was suppose to be included. If QVC pitched it as free support, I definitely would take this up with them, not Dell. They were the ones who claimed the offer at point of purchase.

I also purchased my Dell computer from QVC and after a yr or so the disk drive failed. Dell said it was a software problem and was going to charge me. I gave my computer to my sons friend who uses Dell at their cable company and is head of that department. He checked out the computer and replaced the drive. Dell would do nothing for me so this gentlemen called and told them he had to replace the drive. They would have never done that for me. I've also purchased a lot from QVC and did not return products often. I had problems with flex pay (their screw-up! and they contacted me and said I owed them over 500.00) So I paid them instead of fighting over the flex pay mix up and now I purchase items such as shampoo's etc. and don't hesitate to return it if I don't absolutely love the product. Even if the bottle is almost empty - my small way of getting back at them. Make sure you insure the product so you can prove it was returned.
