Thrifty Complaint - Houston Airport - Thrifty Rent A Car
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- I rented a car at the Houston airport and took the insurance coverage. I hadn't inspected the car before getting to the exit booth, but since I had insurance, I wasn't too concerned. I asked the agent if I needed to get out and look the car over, but was told since I had insurance, it really wasn't necessary. When I returned the car, the agent who checked me in mumbled under her breath...."dent". When I walked around the front of the car, there indeed was a dent, but I am sure "I" didn't put it there. I asked her if she had a previous record of the vehicle that would show whether or not the dent was noted previously and she said she couldn't tell me that--that the records weren't available to her. She would not give me a receipt for the rental so I could turn it in for reimbursement from my company and I had to fill out some extensive form regarding the "dent". So...I'm wondering....why don't they inspect the car BEFORE we take it to note dents, scratches, etc.? Of course I will in the future....lesson learned....but when we have insurance covering such things--why do they hold me hostage and will not give me a receipt??
I'm contacting the customer service department today to see what gives??? I need the receipt, regardless! I guess every rental place has its issues, but I'm going to try a different car company this week. I canceled the reservation for pickup today and may never use them again.
