American Furniture Outlet Complaint - It's Discontinued - Area Rug

Review by boboeder on 2009-10-13
COLORADO -- I recently picked out an area rug at AFO's Ft Collins store. The saleswoman said I was lucky because there where two left at anther store, and I could pick up it in a few days. I brought it home to find the rug was not rolled up correctly and The fibers were crushed over creating distinct lines. I called the store, to find out I was lucky for a second time, as they had one rug available. I switched out rugs just to have the same problem. I called customer service, to be told this rug is no longer sold by them. They offered me a floor model from a store 75 miles away. I asked about them delivering the rug to the Ft Collins store, they said these stores are not connected. I was also told the rug was unavailable due to the fact it would take months to get a new rug from Saudi Arabia (the slow boat from Middle East). I was also told this could be a "value rug" and my expectations were to high. I paid 300 dollars for the rug. These rugs are readily available at other stores. I have decorated the whole room around this rug so I must live with the defective rug.

This is not the first discontinued item I have brought there I was unable to get replacement rubber feet for bar stools that I purchased 1 month earlier PLEASE ask about future availability of your purchases. and hope you never need real help from American Furniture Outlet.

A $300 rug probably is of man made fibers like polypropolene (spelling ?). You should be able to vacum or steam out the crease in the fiber. On the back of the rug should be a label telling you the fiber as well as the care of the rug. Hope this works for you.
