Home Depot Complaint - Special Services - large purchase
I recently made a fairly large purchase for Windows/doors at Home Depot in Prince George, BC. Making this purchase was a story all on its own. It took me four hours to make an order that shouldn't have taken more than 1 hour. This was due to the fact that the managers had left a young fellow on his own with less than three days experience and, need it be said, limited training on the computer and making orders in this department.
Anyway, I received a call that some of my items had arrived at the store. I gathered my receipts and headed to the store to pick them up. While at the store I wanted to pick up a couple of other items. So, I loaded up the ordered items and headed off to gather the other stuff. When I got back to the Windows/doors department to take these items through the cash register there were two young lads standing on the cart. They told me I had to take the items through Special Services before I could leave. Well, it turns out that Special Services is for everything from credit applications to returns. Thus, the line up is unbelievable. I couldn't believe this was an expectation. I asked to speak the manager. The manager showed up 20 or so minutes later and is indolent about it. "Well that's how it is if you don't leave the store with your items when you purchase them." So, let me get this straight, I've paid, I've got my receipt and yet you think it is appropriate to make me wait in two line ups (remember, I still need to pay for the items I picked up during this trip) for a packing label that you should have had on the item before I came to pick it up. What the >?>?>!!! are you talking about! You can keep your special services Home Depot! The sad part was that the folks in that line up were resigned to the poor service they were receiving and making jokes about "special services" aka customer services. So where is customer service in Home Depot again?
