Tequila Chicas Complaint - Utterly Disgusting - Dirty Dishes...Manager Did Not Wash Hands

Review by UTTERLY DISGUSTED on 2009-10-15
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA -- I am writing in utter disgust in regard to Tequila Chicas in South Beach Miami at 1501 Ocean Drive. Although the customer service was great the dishes and utensils that were given to my family and myself were completely dirty. There lots of little left over pieces of food stuck to my glass, fork, knife and plate. When asked if I could speak to the manager they told me that he was unavailable. My husband went inside (we were seated outside) to find the "unavailable manager" he found him screaming at the top of his lungs at one of the employees and speaking to her in an extremely condescending tone. He then saw the same manager walk in to the bathroom and as my husband accompanied my 4 year old son to the men's room. He then saw the same manager exiting without washing his hands.

He immediately briefed me on this and we immediately paid and left. Please take this as a warning! It would be in your best interest not to eat here!

Good info, thanks for the tip.

Did you not realize the condition of the silverware/glassware before you placed an order? I'm surprised you stayed long enough to witness the whole bathroom incident, let alone order and pay for food.

How do youknow he didn't wash his hands? Did you follow him in? This story doesn't ring true.

Ken...

"He then saw the same manager walk in to the bathroom and as my husband accompanied my 4 year old son to the men's room. He then saw the same manager exiting without washing his hands."

I was about to ask the same thing when I read that part.
Though, does that mean they were walking towards the restroom when the manager was coming out or just walking in when they saw the manager? Or were they actually in the restroom?

I wouldn't discredit that statement. Perhaps the husband walked in with the child as they heard the manager doing his business, and then saw/heard the manager exit without seeing/hearing the sink faucet running. It's not impossible.

I still don't believe it. It just sounds too much like a vendetta, but hey, it's only my own opinion and I'm not going to Miami any time soon.

I'm just surprised they stayed after seeing the condition of the silverware she described.
