Wal-Mart Complaint - Automotive Department
CLARKSVILLE, TENNESSEE -- I have used the Walmart on Wilma Rudolph Blvd. in Clarksville, Tn for all my vehicle routine maintenance needs for years. Today, broke that record! I have a rare tire for my Nissan and have to order the tires on-line. Once they arrived, I loaded them in my car and drove to mentioned Walmart for installation this morning, 10-17-09. The clerk came out, inspected the tires to be installed, and offered the lifetime rotate/balance, and sent me on my way, stating I would be called when task was complete. Six hours later and no call from Walmart, I called to inquire about my vehicle. The person who answered the phone confirmed that my "Rotate/balance" was done. I corrected him on installation, and he said yes, it was done. I drove to pick up my car and immediately noticed the worn out tires still on the car. They rotated and balanced and did not install the new tires. Imagine the scenario of the tech working on my car - Grabs the keys to pull into the bay. Immediately notices a strong rubber smell upon opening the door. Climbs in to start the car, looks in the rear view mirror to back up, and sees 4 brand new tires in the rear. Wouldn't the thought cross any persons mind - "Hey, why am I rotating and balancing tires that are at end of tread life when there are 4 huge brand new ones right behind my head?" I spoke to the manager who claimed that proper notes were not taken, but I witnessed said notes being keyed to the hand held computer. He asked that we leave the car even longer so they could correct the error, but that's a negative! It's time for a new vendor for my routine maintenance needs.
