Nuvox Communications | FDN Complaint - I do not recommend Nuvox

Review by Nuvox BAD on 2009-10-17
I was with a company for phone service that FDN Communications purchased it has been so long ago that I don't remember the company name. Anyway Nuvox purchased FDN Communications and for years I had a complete package for $35.00 a month then it went up $10.00 and in the past year it went up to $67.00 a month. Before I moved into this new location I had all new phones lines installed for the new technology.

A couple of months ago every time it rained one voice line would go out and a fax line would go out. I called them 3 different times and they would call bellsouth to come out and check the lines that was a very bad customer service experience 2 of 3 times and the third time the bellsouth guy said it was a short inside and then a couple of days later the phone lines started working by themselves. He was wrong and I feel like each time the trouble ticket was treated with band aids.

The fourth time I did not call them I transferred the lines to 2 different companies and the phones both still give busy signals. So that tells me that it is not a phone line problem it is something that their servers caused.

In most cases services of this type which require physical connections (telephone, electric) to your facility will always be controlled and repaired by the same people. The only company choice you make is who is billing you.

Taking into consideration the human nature aspect you are usually better choosing the company that owns the connection. They tend to pay better attention to their own customers. Not so much to the step children of the secondary company.

I hope this helps.

PS. Just looked up NuVox and it appears they are a cable based VOIP service. As such my comments are not quite appropriate in this case. But still make good points so I'll leave it.
