Statefarm Insurance Complaint - cancelled insurance - automobileautins

Review by Anonymous on 2004-07-27
Customer service is of no help whatsoever, they refused to speak with the payment company to let them know no money was being refunded and to cancel the account. The payment company is holding me responsible and they won't call Statefarm and Statefarm will not call Payments Inc. Insurance was cancelled without my knowledge although Statefarm says they sent a letter. Barry Scott Kingston NY was supposed to be the agent which I gave a deposit to and they did nothing either. Payment Inc. is now holding me responsible for money Statefarm is not refunding. Totally disgusted with State Farm, Barry Scott and Payments Inc.

Need more info. Why did the policy cancel? Because State Farm didn't turn in your payment? If so, that's their fault & your policy shouldn't have been canceled. Hopefully you haven't had an accident either. Give more info...

We need more info here. Paymentsinc.com doesn't give me much info on what exactly it is...Is it like checkfree.com or some sort of bill payer service? If it is stay away from those, even the bill payer service provided by your bank. Why leave it up to a co. to pay your bills? Especially with insurance, I work at an Insurance co. and we take payments by phone and internet free of charge. There's no third party involved unless there is a problem with the check. I've seen sooo many banks make errors with the bill pay!

I'm assuming that Payments Inc is a bill-payor service you use. If so, then, as much as I hate to say it, it is not the insurance company's fault if they did not receive payment in time. The people you need to take this up with is Payments Inc. Now, as a SF agent in Michigan, I can assure you that a letter was sent out by the corporate office. Your agent receives a copy of any documentation mailed to you by corporate, so I can understand your being upset by this; I make sure to call my clients to make sure all is ok, I'm sorry to hear your agent didn't do the same for you. I would say by the sounds of your post, unless you give more information, that the blame here falls on Payments Inc's shoulders. State Farm may not refund money because although they set a specific cancellation date, you still pay for the time that they were covering your vehicle's insurance. If you could provide more information I'd be happy to help as much as I can, I'd hate to see you unhappy with a great insurance company!! Good luck.
