Chans' garden restaurant Complaint - Bad food... Chans' Garden Chinese restaurant

Review by old fart on 2009-10-21
SAGINAW, MICHIGAN -- I had occasion to eat at this restaurant and was very disappointed.
I ordered the shrimp with lobster sauce with a side bowl of egg-drop soup.
The soup was basically a cornstarch loaded noodle
soup with very little taste with some some egg.
The Shrimp was tough, as though they had been boiled for a hour, and it was covered in BROWN sauce, not white egg sauce..
The tea was at least passable..
It was only seven bucks, but I've had a lot better everywhere else...

Chinese food tends to vary a lot regionally, but I have never seen egg drop soup with noodles in it. I'm used to seeing....egg...dropped in soup. Go figure.

Lobster sauce is brown, so why wouldn't shrimp with lobster sauce have a brown sauce on it?

You get my sympathy, there is nothing worse than bad chinese food. Fortunately I have a mom & pop chinese takeout nearby, and their food rocks.

I personally have crossed out Chinese and all it variants from my Asian eat list because of all the bad Chinese restaurants out there. I agree with Ken there's nothing worse than bad Chinese food. When I get a hankering for Asian I usually eat Thai or a good Vietnamese Pho.

Good review old_fart!
