Hutchison Auto Mall in Macon, Georgia/ GM Complaint - Recall Notice Gone Bad

Review by rere3432 on 2009-10-22
MACON, GEORGIA -- I received a recall notice in the mail on 09/2409.
The notice states that my wire harness under the hood is defaulty. This means that it could cause a fire if overheated. So, I immediately called Hutchison Auto Mall to make a appointment to bring my car in and have this fixed as soon as possible. The lady I spoke with said it will only take 30 minutes so come on in. So I took the car to them and they told me they fixed the car. TWO (2) days later I came home and pulled in my driveway, and swithched my car off I saw smoke. My fiance' came outside and asked me "Why is the car smoking?" I said I don't know he lifts the hood and my car was on fire..... I was very very upset because #1 my kids could have been in the car...#2 I had taken my car to have the part replaced so this would not happen. So I called Hutchison Auto Mall to report this problem the guy says "HUH.... Well it seems to me like you need to call GM it was their recall and hung up on me. So I make the claim with my insurance company and GM after calling the local police to obtain a police report. GM sends me a letter telling me took take pictures of the car and get a estimate of the damages and e-mail it to them within 90 days or they will close the claim. What should I do next other than find a attorney? What kind of attorney should I find? PLEASE HELP!!!!
