Made In China Complaint - Led Multi Color Icycle Outdoor Lights- Burn Hazard

Review by desertlamb on 2009-10-22
We opened a box of Christmas lights we had strung last year only to find the box smelled as if it had been in a fire. After examining the contents we found the 3 pair of LED lights we had hung last year outside had burn marks on most of the bulbs and both ends of the strands. The lights are multi color with FLAT TIPS and have white cords. They are made in China with the UL Testing date of 04/08. The model # is XL#XM70MT12. Was there a recall we missed and how do we go about getting replacements? Has anyone else had this problem?

all the best X-mas lights are made in China

I think all Christmas lights are made in China outside a few commercial grade. The LEDs sold for holiday lighting are really junk compared to the technology in the field. They sacrifice a lot in durability to make them affordable. I've already learned to expect only 2-3 seasons from any given LED set.

Were the light brand new from last year? I agree with SJ--they are pretty much junk and need to be replaced frequently.
