Spirit Airlines Complaint - Uncomfortable Seating Conditions
I recently flew Spirit from Chicago to Ft. Lauderdale, then on to Cancun. This was my first time flying Spirit. I was expecting a pleasant experience because of the good news I generally hear about the airlines. Overall, my experience was positive. The attendants were friendly and helpful, and the flight was smooth an on time.
However, the lasting impression I have of Spirit is pretty negative. My experience with the seating was awful! The seats were narrow and the legroom was incredibly small. Getting in and out of the seats was a struggle to begin with, and finding a comfortable position to sit in was equally bad after that because of the extremely limited space between rows. Halfway through the flight, I suddenly became claustrophobic and couldn't get out of my seat fast enough. I spent the better part of the flight standing in the back by the bathrooms or walking up and down the aisle. The attendants were helpful and understanding, and I am thankful for that, but it doesn't make up for the fact that I was so uncomfortable. The cramped seating I experienced is far beyond anything that I have every experienced with any other airline. It doesn't even seem to be safe to me, considering the difficulty people would have getting out of their seats in a quick, orderly manner in the event of an emergency.
Does anyone else feel the same way I do about the seating on Spirit? I don't think I'll ever fly this airline again.
