Verizon Complaint - International calls fee rip off
We never make international calls, but I took a trip to France in September. My husband called the day after I arrived to make sure everything was ok - we spoke for only a few minutes.
When I got my bill, I was charged $148.42!! They charged me for 41 minutes at $3.62 per minute!! And this was during the "economy" period! I KNOW we didn't talk for anywhere near 41 minutes. Further, I never in a million years thought that ANYONE these days charges $3.62 per minute. When I called to complain, I was told that all I would have had to do is add an international calling plan to my service for 1 month for $4.99 per month, and the per minute charge would have only been $0.10. Obviously, Verizon made a KILLING on my call. I thought we would be charged maybe $0.95 per minute, tops.
I have been a customer of Verizon for 25 years, and have my internet and cell service with them as well. I went up three levels of management, and all refused to lower these charges.
I think it's time to move to Comcast.
