MTV Complaint - MTV commercials!!!

Complaint
Review by mike1792 on 2009-11-01
I have been trying to watch Halloween resserection on MTV but literally every 6 minutes or so there is a commercial that comes on that lasts about 3-4 minutes. this is very frustrating, while trying to enjoy a movie. This is one of the only channels that this happens on that I watch & it seriously makes me not want to watch the stuff they show on MTV!

You all over on MTV need to improve your channel & get rid of the million commercials you show all the time!!! Fix it!!!!

Thank you,
pissed off complainer!

We record a lot of our programs. Then play them at our leisure and fast forward through all the commercials. I was watching the old "While You Were Sleeping" movie 'live' the other night. After I noticed they had scenes out to have more time for commercials I just switched channels, over 1/2 hour of commercials in 2 hours wasn't enough for them so they had to start ruining the movie too.

My DVR is my best friend. Most of what I watch is via the DVR. I see very few commercials, unless they go viral and someone tells me to watch them.

Even for shows I have time to watch when they are actually on, I watch 15-20 minutes after the start time so I can fast forward thru the commercials.

as raven said, or watch something else?

"it seriously makes me not want to watch the stuff they show on MTV!"

Sounds like you've already found the solution to your problem.

I remember when MTV was MUSIC. Too bad they changed from what they stand for. MUSIC Television.
Posted by PepperElf on 2009-11-01:
the millions of commercials is what pays for the movie to be available for free.

If you don't want commercials, there's always other choices
1 - dvr, and watch later,
2 - rent or purchase

In my humble opinion, MTV has been pretty much worthless for the past 15 years or so. They fill the airwaves with trash like My Super Sweet 16, Parental Control and The Real World. I, too, remember when MTV was cool and their primary focus was to actually play music videos. Now when I channel surf I rarely even bother to see what they're showing because most likely it won't be anything even halfway decent.

i agree, Crown. I am a product of the 80's, when MTV was cutting edge and amazing. Now, its trash. Very little music. Lots of tabloid TV, ads, and nonsense.

Thanks, raven. I'm going to show my age here, but I was about 12 when MTV first came out and it was just about the best thing ever! To be able to watch videos of the songs we had been hearing on the radio?? Hello! How awesome was that?
Posted by raven2002 on 2009-11-01:
major trivia question...first song ever played on MTV?

(Video killed the radio star)

The only show that I liked on MTV was Pimp My Ride. It is just awesome the way they customize people's cars.

I loved Pimp My Ride! Did you ever see the 1 or 2 follow up episodes they had? Half the kids ended up wrecking their cars, and one never even drives her pimp car.
Posted by MRM on 2009-11-01:
Its a shame that they wrecked the cars that guys put their hard work and creativity into.

I know! The girl who doesn't drive hers had an odd excuse, something about fearing it getting stolen or not wanting to be noticed.
Posted by MRM on 2009-11-01:
The girl had the right idea, with the flashy, customize car she drives, there will be people noticing her pimped out ride.

When I roll in my bright red Jeep Cherokee (see my blog) people on the road would always look in the Jeep to see who's driving.
