United Parcel Service Complaint - Extremely Bad "Service"
CERRITOS, CALIFORNIA -- I was expecting a very expensive - refrigerated pharmacy package via ups delivery on 11-3-09 and it was not delivered. I have R. A. and can't stand to be out in chilly weather. I posted a note on my driveway entrance asking the ups driver to call me when he showed up so I could come out and get my package. I waited till around 11 A.M. NOTHING so I went to my note and found it crumpled with the words "no phone" written on it. WHAT KIND OF DELIVERY DRIVER DOESN'T HAVE A CELL PHONE !!! I did get an info notice stuck on my mailbox so I tried to call the phone number on the back to see what my options were. I got a computer. I then tried to set up a will call so I could pick my package up. The computer took my info and said I would be contacted within the hour by someone at ups to let me know when to come in to their station to get my package. NO ONE CALLED so I tried calling the number on the back again and the computer said I would be contacted within the hour by someone at ups to schedule a pick up. NO ONE CALLED! Meanwhile, the sender contacted me stating that the tracking on ups said they could not make delivery - I told her what happened. I then found another number for ups (at 12:37 p. m.) and spoke to a man who told me that he showed me scheduling a will call and that someone at the service center would contact me when my package was ready for pick up. I then asked him if he had an address for the service center because that information is not available anywhere. He gave me the address, said their hours were from 8 to 6 daily, then told me someone from that service center would contact me when my package was ready for pick up. NO ONE CALLED. It is now Wednesday, 11-4-09.
I contacted the sender this morning to say that I never did get my package. She then told me that ups told her that they contacted me on 11-3-09 and I said that I would be by their service center to pick up my package between 8 and 8:30 Tuesday evening. That is a LIE ! I work for a major corporation that kicked ups out about 4 years ago. I now see why. I will NEVER use this service to ship anything and I will not purchase anything from a company that uses them.
