Lowe's Complaint - Damaged special order (twice so far)
MORENO VALLEY, CALIFORNIA -- Trying for almost 8 weeks now to special order a screen door insert for a Larsen Storm Door from Lowes mill works Dept. in Moreno Valley, California.
The first order arrived damaged and I had to return it. They ordered a second screen insert and it arrived more damaged than the first (looked like a truck ran over it). Now they are ordering for a 3rd time.
Because of the size of the screen, it has to be shipped by truck from back East so takes weeks to arrive.
The damage could be occurring at the point of packaging by the company, during its trip by truck, or when handled by Lowes personnel in the warehouse. No one seems to care how, the answer is sorry, we'll just order another.
Meanwhile winter has arrived. I really don't have any use for the screen door during this season. I would have abandoned Lowes, but they are the only vendor that can order this specific screen insert. I contacted the company and they won't ship directly to a customer for fear that the order might be damaged. (So Lowes is better!)
If I were in charge of this issue, I would make it right for the customer and I would have the screen delivered (in excellent condition) to his front door, and it would be accomplished in a matter of a couple of days, even if I had to have the store manager drive East to pickup the item and deliver it to the customer.
