Tri-state window and door factory clifton, nj Complaint - Refused to leave my free estimate

Review by Dune on 2009-11-05
Resolution Update on 12/05/2009:
I received a call from manager at Tri-State window who quoted me an estimate and followed up by sending me a written proposal. The estimate the manager gave me was approximately half the price quoted by the sales person. I am happy to have this resolved.
CLIFTON, NEW JERSEY -- Had no idea that getting window replacement estimates would be such a hassle. I had no problem getting estimates from Home Depot and from Renewal by Anderson. I was contacted by Tri-State Window and Door factory to come over and give me a free estimate. The sales person arrived, gave his demo, measured my windows and gave me a price however, when I did not sign a contract because I am still in the process of getting estimates he would not leave me a written estimate and actually said to me We don't want your business anyway. He later said he was joking. He then asked for my email address and said I would be getting estimate through email. Well, I'm still waiting for that estimate. I don't understand doing business this way - I actually liked their ultrashield window product and would have considered it had the sales person left me the written estimate that he had so meticulously calculated.

Was this salesperson the owner of the company or someone that is in position of authority? If not, contact the company and ask to speak to his supervisr. Telling somoene "we don't want your business anyway" is no joke. It isn't funny and if he had said that to me the exchange of information would have been over and he would have been asked to leave. There is no chance he would have gotten my email address.
