Ikea Complaint - Arrogant customer service in Ikea Portland Oregon store
PORTLAND, OREGON -- I was simply looking for a light fixture at the IKEA store in Portland, Oregon. It was very confusing. The light fixture was on display but I could not find the light to purchase.
I said, 'excuse me' to the young, blonde woman who was moving inventory around in the lighting department and asked her where I could find the actual product. She said that it was right near the display. I went and looked but I could not find it. I asked again and, instead of walking for 10 seconds and showing me exactly where the product was, she yelled at me while rolling her eyes.
She said, 'I TOLD YOU IT'S AT THE DISPLAY!' and returned to whatever she was doing. I asked her again to simply show me and she huffed, puffed and arrogantly stomped over to the display. She was unbelievably rude and arrogant.
To this woman who works evenings in the lighting department at IKEA in Portland, Oregon: you are a clerk. Your entire job is to be a clerk. Your entire job is to serve customers. You are terrible at your job.
I picked up the lighting fixture and then left it and everything else I had planned to buy and left IKEA. I haven't been back.
IKEA of Portland, Oregon: your clerk's arrogant attitude lost you sales. I cannot imagine I am the only customer who cannot figure out where things are at your messy store. Your prices are too high to put up with the glued-together furniture, the messy and broken displays and the lousy personnel.
Instead of being a fun and interesting experience, your personnel made it a horrendous one. I would rather buy furniture online than trek miles to be yelled at by a clerk.
I now understand why there is plenty of parking space at Ikea in Portland, OR.
