Wells Fargo & Company Complaint - Unauthorized
I recently on the suggestion of a WFB employee closed my debit card and was issued a new card and number so that DirecTV could not withdraw funds after I changed to another company. I made the final payment through WFB bill pay, four days after DirecTV received the final payment they debited my account for the same amount of money using my new card number. I called WFB and was told: 1-Because DirecTV had been given access to my account previously they did not need my new card number to access my account. 2- That WFB did not give out information like that, so I must have given my new card number to DirecTV.
3-Did I ask DirecTV how they got the number, and I should just wait for WFB to investigate my complaint and that WFB if they found my complaint valid they would provisionally refund the money.
4-I should have placed a stop payment, but it would only protect against a set withdrawn amount.
5-Close the card and WFB will issue a new card. What ? So they can give that card number out as well. I am really upset, but Gabriel at WFB executive office told me that if I did not calm down he would put me on hold. I believe that someone at WFB gave out the new number even if they say it is not their policy
