AT&T Complaint - It's all up to the field rep if you can get U Verse
OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA -- After trying to get U-Verse, twice, I am now shopping for a new provider that has field reps willing to install a TV service.
I wasted 3 days off work first, trying to get U Verse installed then a second day, trying to get AT&T to get my DSL Internet fixed (from a mix up in their office due to the field rep) then a third day because they wouldn't cancel the U Verse that they never installed so I could get my DSL fixed!
It's amazing that know one can answer any questions on the U Verse installation except the field representative If you try to confirm their requirements, you have to schedule an appointment for a representative to come out. Once out, it is completely up to him if he wants to do the work or not and if it's too much work, I can pretty much guarantee he is not going to say "it cannot be done". When you call to find out why, because you know others with the same setup you have with service guess what, you have to make another appointment to talk to another field representative After talking with others, I have figured out my house is too big, I have 3 floors and I have too many TV's that I want service on. Most of my neighbors with 2 story homes have just went to Comcast who were more than willing to come out and do the installation.
After 3 wasted days off work, they simply apologized and told me to try to make another appointment and see if I get a different field representative It would almost be better for their reps to be rude but all you can get is a long, drawn out friendly apology, no help no action, and no service. You can get an address to write a complaint but they will only give you their billing address, no person, no department and also no response after writing 2 letters.
So after 35 years as an AT&T customer, I am shopping to leave. Never had trouble giving a company business and have never been a bad customer. Find a company that respects your business, AT&T isn't one of them.
