L.A.INSURANCE Informative - NOT INSURABLE - AUTO INSURANCE

Review by jaimie on 2009-11-09
I PURCHASED INS. ON MY 1995 INTREPID IN OCT.2009, NOW I AM BEING TOLD MY INS. WILL BE CANCELLED END OF NOV.2009 BECAUSE THE CAR WAS MANUFACTURED IN CANADA! I RECEIVED TITLE, REGISTRATION, AND LIC. PLATE FROM MICHIGAN SECRETARY OF STATE, SO HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?

The DMV has nothing to do with the manufacturing of cars. You get your title from them because it had a lien against it in that state. You get your registration from them because you live in that state.

I don't see why it matters where the car is manufactured though. It may be a stipulation with that insurance company. They must be a small time company. Try a national company. AND read your policy.

LA rights for other companies. Find out who your insurance is really through then go from there. Also, when you find out who they wrote your insurance through, cancel with LA and go directly through the provider. You are paying a fee to LA for writing insurance for another company.
