Pep Boys Complaint - Lost center wheel caps
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO -- First, I encourage this complaint be sent to main office for review.
I went into Pep Boys for an alignment, 4 new tires, and fuel filter change on 11/07/09. What I got was a fuel filter change, a tire rotation at my request after I was informed that I needed extensive work conducted with a labor estimate of 978.88 and no parts estimate. I was told it would be Monday for this estimate; no call ever came. I had explained I needed these repairs done before I deploy to Afghanistan to ensure all my vehicles are in safe operation for my family. The next morning I woke to get the newspaper and noticed two missing center hub caps. After checking the other side the other two were barely attached. After calling and speaking to the store that morning the lady kindly let me know that the service technician remembers replacing them on properly. She told me she had to transfer me to the service supervisor after I expressed my disappointment in her response. Funny, I remember specifically asking for this person in the first place. A moment later she came back on the line and said the person I needed to speak to was very busy and he would get back with me (she would not leave me a name). No return call. What really started the whole mess was when the store representative wrote up my initial estimate and she picked the tires she thought I should get priced over $150 a piece without asking if that was what I wanted. My wife would have been really taken had I asked her to take the vehicle in for repairs. What can be done about this type of service when we have to trust these mechanics?
