Cingular Wireless Complaint - Contract - Customer Service Cooperation
GARLAND, TEXAS -- Consumers beware,i did not commit to a cingular wireless service. My wife did receive a phone thru a promotion by mcdonald" in 2000.I did pay for 1 year and my wife called in to reduce her minutes . At that time cingular slammed me and said that was an agreement to up my contract for an extended year.I called in and cancelled my service.Without even telling me they applied a disconnect fee. I refused to pay. They turned it over to a collection agency. I still tried to fight them requesting a copy of the agreement they said everything was verbal and no contract exists.They also turned it into the credit bureau.Then they forwarded it to there internal collection's which also turned it into they credit bureau.Which applied another fee.Two amounts are showing up on my credit report.The original amount for $415.00 And one for $490.00. In an attempt to clear my credit and be able to refinance my home. I had to pay both of the cingular account's.And they would refund me the overpayment.Beware, this is an ordeal in itself. They further punish you by making you verify you paid them. There confused by the overpayment.I have been waiting four month's still no refund. You would think a check would be proof enough.They tell me it will be 2-3 week's . I wait 4 week's.Then call again. Get the same response.If you use cingular wireless beware.I have never heard of a company there size,using verbal as a contract. I still think it's illegal, but who can afford to take the time and have the money to fight them in court.
This is another example of big business making there living from the simple man.
