AT&T Complaint - 3rd Party Slamming
I called AT&T in August of 2009 about my phone bill having charges on it from some company that I am not even familiar with. I was informed that my phone line was slammed. I have called them monthly about my phone bill. I was told by an AT&T representative that I didn't have to pay the amount and to send this amount in. I did and my internet was disconnected. Because it was Saturday, I had to pay for those calls that were slammed on my phone to get through to the DSL department (The AT&T operator told me that they would restore the service - NOT). I also got charged for the disconnection and the only thing the last operator said was, I'm sorry you must have been misinformed. Then she proceeded to try to sell me a bundle package. I said heck no, I cannot even get you to fix something on the bill that I never authorized anyone to charge me for. I called the companies like they told me to do, but there was never a credit and those companies had no idea who I even was. They had someone else's name with my phone number. Apparently anyone can do their billing on AT&T's phone bill - because that is what happened to me. I asked to speak to someone else, I asked to talk to a supervisor, I asked them what they were going to do, I even asked them for the name and address of the company that charged me. She said she didn't know. When I first made the call and found out I was slammed, the AT&T representative was the best. He was very helpful and I understood what happened. There has been no resolution to this matter and I am still out the money.
