Priceline.com Complaint - How slow can a refund be?
Resolution Update on 11/17/2009:
Success!! I called my credit card company today and asked them to please retract the entire transaction amount for all three tickets. 15 hours later, the single ticket price was refunded to my account, which was all I wanted to begin with. I guess they figured it was better not to lose the entire amount. BTW, my tickets were not 'name your own price', or any other special deal. Simply a low advertised price on a refundable ticket. Refund only within 24 hours of purchase, which is clearly stated on Priceline website.
Almost three weeks ago, I purchased 3 airline tickets using priceline.com. with my credit card. 12 hours later, I called back to cancel one of the tickets. She said it would be done electronically in a day or two. I've been patient. A few days ago I called and asked them about the refund. They said that they already refunded me my money and to call my bank. I called my bank and they said no refund had transpired. I called back priceline, and they told me that I had to wait for the airline to refund me my money, and that it could take up to two billing cycles. This is insane. A simple electronic refund at the time could have been so easy, now it is so irritating, I will not be using Priceline in the future, and will be advising my aquaintences to avoid them as well. There are other services out there.
