Incognito Complaint - Rotton store policies!

Review by juicyfruit1 on 2009-11-15
ROYAL OAK, MICHIGAN -- I was in desperate need of new shoes! I went out to get a pair of Toms. I picked up a pair of boots while I was at it. Most of the time when I make decisions I tend to be spontaneous and extroverted. I like to get others opinions and I will make a quick decision and think about it more after. Well, my advice to all who shop is be on guard because of these sneaky store policies. I just don't understand, how is it that if you buy something in cash, return it two days later, that they won't give your money back. You are giving the store their product back so it should be an even and fair trade...well this tore in ROYAL OAK, MICHIGAN, INCOGNITO, They wouldn't give my money back! It is so frustrating because they swindle you and of course the girl had told me I could return these items with in 15 days but she oops of course forgot to mention that I could return then for store credit only or exchange!!! I think incognito is over prices, they are swindlers, they are not a good business and I have no future plans of shopping there except that I now have a gift card for their store! BOIF!I don't recommend shopping there, and I actually think I am going to picquette in front of there store until they return my money!

How did they swindle you? You saw the price and paid it. Look on your receipt it probably has the return policy on it. What's BOIF?

Their return policy should be clearly stated in the store. A lot of them also print it on the receipt. It's the store's prerogative to accept a product back for store credit or not at all. Picketing the establishment isn't going to make them give you your money back.

Is to picquette how they protest things in France? Seriously, though, I wonder whether or not the OP had her receipt and if not, maybe that's why they only offered store credit or exchange. If that is the case, then they're more generous than most stores who won't do any kind of return without one. I also agree with AlleyS; it seems like they were a fine store for you to use until they refused to bend the rules for you.

So they gave you store credit. Why did you buy shoes and then return them 2 days later? Why didn't you try them on or do whatever you needed to do to decide on them in the store? It sounds like you wanted some for a function then got mad when you were stuck spending your money at their store. That's probably why most clothing and shoe stores have that policy in place. Why wear it for 2 days then get CASH back. Your money is going to stay in that store one way or another.
