Canceled Orders and Unhelpful Staff on Closure of Rugby Ralph Lauren

ONLINE, MARYLAND -- When Rugby Ralph Lauren online closed, I placed an order taking advantage of the sales. The order was later canceled and the reason given that they apparently had no idea what their stock was before the sales. All they had to do was not sell more items on their website than they did have in stock. How hard is that?!

I contacted their customer relations to ask if they could at least direct me to the similar products on the regular Ralph Lauren website. The salesperson only answered "Sure, you can find similar items on our main website" and never directed me to anything. They could also have given me a voucher for cancelling my order, but as the answer of the salesperson showed, they could not care less about the inconvenience. After all, they make so much money, why care about the customer...

CALIFORNIA -- I am writing to express my complete frustration and aggravation that I experienced with Ralph Lauren customer service (or non-service) after being a loyal customer for forty five years. As a consequence, I will buy Ralph Lauren products again. I wrote about a $900 leather jacket that was failing – pockets were falling off after little use. They never responded. Weeks later I wrote again. No response. The third time they wrote back asking for info, I sent it along with photos They wrote someone will respond in ten days. They did not. I wrote again – same 10-day response. Every time I wrote, I received answers that indicated they did not read the prior emails. Enough I said – I will stay away, and encourage others to do the same. My family and I have been loyal customers of Ralph Lauren clothes for years. About 4 years ago the quality began to go downhill and recently we got men's chino's for my husband and 18 year old son delivered and that was the last straw. No longer the thick material of the past. These chinos would rip in a day. Plus there is no craftsmanship in the making any more of the RL pants.

I remember so well the beautiful Italian made chinos with leather trim on pockets. They looked so beautiful on my men. Now they hang like a dishrag. Returning all clothes and I give up. Never going back. Ralph, if you still have a beating heart, clean up your company. Your son(?) is not following in your footsteps!!!

Shabby Quality of Ralph Lauren Clothing

MOORESTOWN, NEW JERSEY -- Over the years I have purchased the Polo-Ralph Lauren clothing. At one time, the quality was second to none. However, over the past couple of years, it is worse than cheap! I received flannel pajamas, a couple of shirts and flannel bed sheets as Christmas gifts. It is only February and every item is already showing wear, puffing up after their laundered so that they can't be ironed without creases and they are nearly see through, paper thin. What a terrible disappointment. Things that I've purchased recently from J C Penny's have held up much better. No more RL.

Quality Of Their Casual And Dress Shirts Has Gone Way Down

NEBRASKA -- I've been wearing only Ralph Lauren shirts for the past 10 years. Every year the quality has gone down. The broadcloth fabric used to be heavy and smooth on both sides. The front facing where the button holes are used to be double faced with a white fabric on the back. Today the shirts are as flimsy as Gap shirts. Really poor quality. What a shame they ruined a superior product. Go to the gap and get the same crap.

HOUSTON, TEXAS -- I have purchased several pairs of Ralph Lauren's cotton pajamas. They were very soft and cozy. I washed and dried them and they shrunk to where I could no longer wear them. So I'm out of money and pajamas. I will continue to purchase Ralph Lauren's merchandise but I will no longer purchase the cotton pajamas.

Poor Quality of Jeans

CHERRY HILL, NEW JERSEY -- I purchased a pair of Ralph Lauren jeans and loved the look and dark blue coloring of the jeans... Little did I know that after the initial washing - my hands would turn blue from touching the fabric of the jeans I was wearing. They have been washed several times and each time I wear them, my hands and if wearing a white sweater shades of light gray/blue, appear on the fabric and my hands.. I am going to take them back to the store for a refund this week... I love the fit - the style - the look of the color... What a shame...

Polo Shirt Trash

NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- I have been wearing the Ralph Lauren Pima Cotton polo shirt for many years. I purchase six to ten a year. I recently bought three from Bloomingdale's for around $90 - they are garbage. The quality has gone. Basically they have reduced the yarn count and taken the weight out of the shirt thus reducing it to a limp rag. Why would they do this? They make a fortune on this product, probably they land the shirt at under $15 and sell it for $90, how greedy to you have to be? Ralph, don't be stupid, restore the item to its original quality before all of loyal customer kiss you goodbye.

Low Quality

PENSACOLA, FLORIDA -- A few months ago I purchased a long sleeve Polo shirt for my husband as I have many times. This shirt is navy blue with white collar and lined inside with white in the back of the shirt just below the collar. After a few times of laundering, the white has bleed through to the blue, making the blue look faded. I paid too much for this shirt for my husband to be able to only wear it around the house. I contacted Ralph Lauren, but have not heard a word. I tracked the email, don't think they ever even opened it. Guess their customers are not important!

Poor Quality Clothing from Ralph Lauren

NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- I recently wrote to Ralph Lauren complaining of the poor quality clothing they are producing. I love the sizes of Ralph Lauren Jeans but the dye on the blues jeans comes off on my hands, undergarments sweaters. They have been washed many times but they are using poor quality dye and it still comes off. I recently bought some active wear pants and the fabric is of such poor quality, lint sticks to it and it is hard to get off with a roller.

Ralph Lauren makes poor quality products. I am looking for a different brand of jeans that fit well and the dye is of better quality. Ralph Lauren is no longer a name I associate with quality. Ralph Lauren doesn't respond to customer letters. I guess they don't care about what consumers have to say about their products.
