Ashley Furniture Complaint - Refund Limbo
ROSEVILLE, CALIFORNIA -- My experience with the Ashley Furniture store that is now closed as of 01 Nov 2009 has been nothing short of a nightmare. I placed an order for a piece of furniture that was supposed to arrive within 4-6 weeks from the date of purchase. That time frame came and went and when I went into the store, it had not even been shipped yet. This was the beginning of May and I canceled the order. I was told my refund would be sent to me within 7 business days. That time frame came and went, so I called again, and again and again. Each time the person on the other end told me a different date, ranging from 3 business days, to the next business day. All of these dates came and went. Then I find out that the store is closing and they expect me to wait until the liquidation process is over before they will return my money to me. Since then, I have found out that the decision to close this store was made after I canceled my order, therefore I do not see why my money has not yet been returned to me.
Now, 6 months later, I still have no refund, no date as to when I will have my refund, and a contact person in Redding who has become nearly non-existent and hostile.
I'm asking any other customer who has had a similar experience to come together in a law suit against Ashley Furniture. There is no way this is legal in any way and I for one am tired of getting the run around. There is no reason why anyone should be expected to wait 6 months for their refund from anywhere. You don't wait that long from any state or federal agency, why does Ashely Furniture think it's alright to make their customers wait that long?
