Old Navy Complaint - Out of Luck--Too Late
ILLINOIS -- I guess I should read my receipt better. I knew that Old Navy has a 90 day return policy, but I thought that they would give you a store credit if it was after that time. Well, I was sadly mistaken. I made a purchase on 8/15/09 and attempted to return the merchandise on 11/17/09--so I was three days past the deadline. I was told by the store manager that the return could not be made. I asked her couldn't it be a store credit or an exchange and she said no, that neither one could be done. She then said that she would allow me to exchange the jeans for another size of the same ones, but that is all that she would allow me to do. She was not pleasant at all. I took my jeans backs, with the thought in mind that this is Xmas season. All I have to do is wait another 1 1/2 months and then I can return them without a receipt for a store credit as a Xmas gift. The crazy thing is that the jeans were ringing up last night at the regular price, which is the amount that they would have refunded me. I purchased them on sale. So if my plan works out, then I might possibly end up with a larger credit than what I spent. This would be crazy if it does work because all I wanted was to get back the amount that I paid for the jeans. I might be on the losing end, if they don't allow returns without a receipt even for Xmas gifts. But we shall see.
