Tallgrass Market Research Complaint - Tallgrass Market Research Complaint

Review by Feeling deceived on 2009-11-20
OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS -- The same thing happened to me with the music study. I, too, was paid $50 to participate on a music panel at the Doubletree Hotel in Overland Park, and my check also bounced. After finding this out, plus getting hit with a $5 charge from my bank, I called Julie Overby (the apparent owner) in September to see what would be done to rectify the situation. She assured me that sometime during the first part of October, she would be sending the $50, plus the bank charge, plus $10 for the trouble. I actually waited through the entire month of October but saw nothing arrive in my mailbox. Since the beginning of November, I have been calling and emailing Julie, leaving countless messages, only to hear...nothing. At one point, I even asked her to simply send the $5 fee that I paid OUT OF MY POCKET for their mistake. Nada, zilch, nothing. Talk about feeling scammed. My next step is going to be reporting them to the BBB.

Go straight to the Office of the Attorney General. The BBB isn't going to be of any use in the situation.

I also have had the same problem with this company. I participated in a music study was paid with a check that bounced, have incurred bank fees and now cannot get my money from Tall Grass. I have filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau and just found out today that the case had been closed because after several attempts at contacting them, the BBB was unable to get in touch with any one. i am feeling very decieved and I cannot believe that they can get away with this!! I would definitely be up for a call for action!!

I am the one that wrote the first Tallgrass issue. I have finally gotten my money via Western Union from the president of the company in another state. Had to fight tooth and nail for it, but finally got it, along with $20 to cover my $6 bank charge and the rest for my "paitence". He also promised to send me a gift card to a local restaurant, but it has never shown up and frankly, I never expected it to! Email me at lbarrett1@hotmail.com if you need any of the contact information that I have! I would love to help anyone who got scammed by this company get what is theirs!!!!
