Prestige Complaint - The Worst Investment - EVER!

Review by PJAYAOL on 2009-11-21
NEODESHA, KANSAS -- I remodeled my kitchen at a cost of $30K. The contractor that I chose estimated 6 weeks for the remodel. Instead, it took almost 7 MONTHS! The top-of-the-line solid cherry Prestige cabinets were delivered with numerous quality defects: "drip" marks for poorly applied coatings, corners chipped, "rough" areas where the sanding hadn't been done right, "crooked" inlays, - the list goes on and on. I believe that the final count was 8 "returns" over that 7 month timeframe, with the same "repeat" issues over and over. It makes me sad just thinking of all that beautiful cherrywood that was wasted due to poor quality and craftsmanship. Spoke with the VP Quality & the VP Marketing - along with customer service - with no resolution. Ultimately purchased another cabinet - in lawsuit now.

Unless you were purchasing a high gloss wood, like my cherry dinette, instead of the laquered finish, they are supposed to look like that. My best friend just refinished her cabinets: sanded and stainmed and they also have a 'sap roll' sort of look. All that I have ever seen looks like that....Do you happen to have any photos?

For it to have been redone so many times tells me there was a miscommunication on what you wanted and what you were requesting.
