America Online Informative - Class Action suit against AOL
US -- Canceled dial-up service wit AOL Dial-up July 7th. Was billed to my Visa August 9th.
Called customer service (to India) and was told that I didn't cancel until August 9th. Lie. They then backtracked the story and said well, you canceled July 9th (Not the 7th, which I actually did and have the phone records etc. to prove it) and that put me in a "new month billing cycle". The person I spoke to assured me I would have no new charges, I was NOT told I would be billed. Mind you my canceled account was not accessible at this time, because it was CANCELED...why should one be billed? Calls to customer service are calls to Satan himself. I see these same complaints over and over on this board.
