Ambassador Inn - Milwaukee Complaint - Avoid this hotel

Review by jpayne66 on 2009-11-30
Stayed at this hotel in November 2009. They don't warn you that it is in a really bad part of town. They also have the worst management and customer service I have experienced at hotels I have stayed at in the past, and I stay at lots of them.

This isn't one of those hotels that rent rooms by the hour? If so, that's a good reason to stay away.

"They don't warn you that it is in a really bad part of town."

That's why you research the hotel first before making reservations.

I spent two nights here last year when visiting someone at the nearby Marquette University. For $80 per night for two persons, with a room with two double beds, I couldn't complain. The place looked clean but during the night the lighting was dim. I don't know why you thought it was a bad part of town. It's a quiet area and didn't see anything that could pose a threat to us. And to GenuineNerd this is not a hotel that rents rooms by the hour - at least we saw no evidence of prostitution if that's what you meant. Its just a simple hotel. If you want more luxury, the Ambassador Hotel is opposite and charges $140 per night per room.

OK I just googled it and found that a decade ago the area was known for drug dealers and prostitutes, but the authorities have since "cleaned up" the area. I can say we didn't see anything of the sort last year, but I suppose your experience is worth noting
